Disneyland in the Off Season
Have you been to Disneyland recently?  I gotta say, I'm a Disney freak and every time I go is a new experience.  My daughter who is 2 and a half has already been 4 times!  Each time is completely different with her.  I have to recommend going in the "off season"!  Here's the highlights and lowlights of my recent trip:

The GOOD:
  • Wednesday and Thursdays are KEY days to visit because the crowd is not really a crowd at all.  We walked on to just about every ride and the ones we waited for were no more than 15 minutes!
  • The Little Mermaid ride is open at California Adventure.  If you have small kids, they will love all the music and color that goes with this.
  • Smaller crowds means better viewing of World of Color.  I actually got to see the action this time and it was awesome
  • The weather was still amazing (almost too amazing.  It was 97 degrees one day)

The (kind of) BAD:
  • They closed early because it was "off season"
  • rides were closed like Haunted Mansion, California Screamin', Pirates
  • The entrance to California Adventure is getting a makeover and it is a pain in the tush to get anywhere in the park

Overall, I can deal with the park closing early if the crowds are small and I get to get onto the rides with ease.  I'd rather be able to have a little personal space than be crammed up against some sweaty stranger.  I will always recommend taking the fam to Disneyland for vacation since it's so fun.  I can't wait for all the newness that will be coming our way with different attractions, lands, and rides in 2012.  You know I'll be back!
